My Mum runs a Wildlife Trust shop right on the edge of south west Wales by the landing for the boat to Skomer Island. Mostly she sells local craft peoples stuff. It's a beautiful place, people drop in and tell her about the animals, birds and plants they've seen on the islands and the cliffs, she has a big chalk board where she writes down everyone's sighting's so people know what's out there, she writes planting labels and identifies plants in the hedge outside with them, it's all pretty idyllic. 2 miles from the nearest village, 15 miles from the nearest town.
Some jerk has robbed them twice in the last 2 weeks. Robbing a charity shop to steal local peoples stuff is about as low as it gets.
Now I'm worried about her being out there almost on her own all day so far from help. I've never worried before it all was friendly and nice.
People are scum. Not all of them but enough of them to ruin it for others. |

Totally forgot to pick up the girl I was giving a lift to this morning. Had to go all the way to the motorway to turn around and go get her, now have to work to 5 leaving poor Little Dave to fend for himself in Port Talbot for about 1/2 an hour, before picking him up and zooming to Cardiff. Doh!
Stayed at home and did laundry and phonecalls last night. I feel pretty good for it. There was only one egg and I had no energy to bake and now need an alternative use for blueberries. I might take stuff to Crawley and just bake at Chrissies house.
Looking forward to my weekend. In fact looking forward to the next 3 weekends. It's all going to be good.
I have a mint Aero bar and I was listening to Aerosmith in the car this morning.
Suppose I should find some work to do, but I really don't want to.
Soon it will be summer and I can go down the beach. This summer there will be BBQs on the beach and bodyboarding and all sorts of adventures. I'm even thinking about folk festivals. |

I went sailing on Saturday. I don't do nearly enough of that and will do much more next summer.
Yesterday Dave alphebetised my CDs and put them in the right boxes and then worked out exactly what I'd had stolen last year and how many copies of what I had and how many I needed. It's a good job I've got him as I'd never have the patience to do that. |
